Background noise makes hearing speech difficult with most hearing aids - not just NHS ones. With smart electronics we can boost the soft sounds while leaving the loud sounds unaltered. What this means in practice is that the noise of the traffic is muted, but speech is still clear. As a result these aids are semi-automatic.

Because the computer samples sound millions of times per second, remote controls become obsolete. The hearing-computer automatically adjusts to ensure never-too-loud-never-too-soft hearing. Never before has such technology been developed to fit unobtrusively inside the ear.

Although ordinary hearing aids help you hear speech, ours take you into the clear sound zone so you can identify every word that is spoken. Using a computer linked to the hearing aids - while they are in your ears - we can now fine tune them to suit your hearing exactly. This process is so accurate that a volume control is not necessary.
